TV star Emma Samms who played Fallon Carrington Colby in the hit series Dynasty - has been signed up to appear in the BBC daytime soap. She will assume the role of Amanda Clay, a glamorous and mature 40-year-old complementary therapist who has experience in the fields of aromatherapy massage, Reiki healing, Indian head massage and most recently has completed a course in reflexology.
The character has a very active, fun social life but little ambition - she has never had to worry about money. The only thing she needs is her man and although she has agreed to have an ‘open’ relationship with him, she is petrified of losing him emotionally to another woman. But who is her man? Sorry, but you'll have to wait until October to find the answer to that one.

a stupid american soap from the eighties... very rich people in the oil industry wearing horrible clothes and cheating each other in horrible western accent. all the actors looked plastic made and so did emma. if i remember correctly, she wasn't the original actress who played fallon, but when the previous actress left they said something like she had been through a car accident or something and that's why she looked differently... but i may have mixed it with the other stupid one, that was quite similar and called "dallas". in both cases, we deal with crap tv in its full glory. we watched it in israel only because at that time we had only one tv channel and no sat tv or cables. early nineties we got a second channel and life became much more tolerable, when cables came in and we got the bbc it was a genuine relief.
pam, anything to add?

hm, it doesn't sound like the best tv show. i think Emma improved a bit by the time she turned up in HC, although i could be wrong.

yep, i guess we should give her credit. you know, benefit of the doubt thing. we'll see in no time, i mean, you'll see and i'll wait a few more months and envy you.
although from the description above i'd say she has a petential of being a very very annoying character. i could see how she could make each and every one of the others very crossed.
don't you?

well i've found a Holby video with her on, and well i'm now remembering how much i hated the storyline she was in. I don't think she'll be replacing Tasha as my fave Doctors character.
