Amanda drops Jimmi to work, and bumps into Mac and Julia, inviting them for dinner. Mac wants to decline but Julia accepts quickly, admitting that it will be fun. Sarah enjoys telling them how grand Jimmi and Amanda’s house is.
After being drugged, Greg, should be resting, but comes into the Health Centre, to the shock of Sarah and Mac, but Greg insists that he has some meetings he does not want to miss. The Mantis survived the car accident and will face charges.
Faith offers help to her lovelorn elderly patient, but handles it badly, admitting this to Julia. Julia listens but suggests that she can’t get it right every time.
Jimmi and Greg share their experiences of the Mantis. Greg remembers how vulnerable Jimmi felt after his experience of being drugged. Both were helpless and out of their depth.
Mac and Julia assess their days, lots of drama and busy. Mac reminds Julia about their dinner invitation to Jimmi and Amanda’s, and that people who appear happy aren’t necessarily so.
In the pub, George, Greg, Jimmi, Faith and Sarah toast Greg’s heroism.
Meanwhile, Sue and Mario Vernengo run a restaurant, but Mario has recently had a heart attack so should be resting. Pressure to help out and eventually run the business, is put on their Son, Tom, who is still at school. Mario wants to expand, Sue is not happy about this. Mario is taking medication and talks to Mac about this. Mac suggests he slow down and tries a different medication, but Mario does not tell his wife this.
Carlo, their waiter, has encouraged Sue to start taking cocaine, which when Mario finds, presumes is Tom’s. Mario has a heart attack. Sue tells Mario that she is taking cocaine because she cannot cope with the pressure. Mario and Sue are honest for the first time in a long time.
'Time's Arrow'

Stan Tennent has a wrist complaint and Mac diagnoses benign intention tremor, and prescribes ‘betablockers’.
Stan gets breathless easily but has not disclosed this to Mac. Stan is devastated as he still dines out on the glory days of his Darts championships, and dreams of returning to his glory days.
Frustrated, Stan takes more than his prescription dose and collapses, (the ‘betablockers’ bring on asthma), requiring bed rest. Stan’s wife has died, and so it is up to Son, Joe to help.
Joe is a better darts player than his dad, and is skipping college and playing darts behind his Dad’s back. Joe comes clean to his Dad; Stan has only ever wanted Joe to follow in his footsteps, but his own skill made it harder for Joe to do so. Joe plays a match in Stan’s place, and wins. Stan and Joe are closer.
'A Trifling Condition'

Amanda reminds Jimmi that Mac and Julia are coming around for dinner tonight; Jimmi wants to cancel, but Amanda is not playing along. Jimmi resorts to taking the mickey out of his wife’s cooking.
Jimmi is late for work again and runs into the Health Centre. Mac is unimpressed, and less so when Julia reminds him that they are having dinner with Jimmi and Amanda later. Julia is keen to get any gossip. Julia will call Amanda and let her know that everyone has agreed for her to offer a reflexology clinic at the Health Centre. Julia is overly nice to Jimmi, simply to annoy Mac.
Amanda starts cooking ready for entertaining Mac and Julia, but when it does not got to plan picks up the phone for a takeaway.
Mac bonds with Jimmi, pretending that he is looking forward to dinner later, but they both quickly realise neither of them are looking forward to it, and so relax about the dinner plans.
Julia and Mac arrive at Jimmi and Amanda’s impressive house, and Julia finds out that dinner is not home cooked. Amanda is embarrassed, but both are actually relieved that neither are great cooks and the ice is broken.
Amanda confirms to Julia that their marriage is an open one, but that the important thing is that Amanda and Jimmi do not have secrets. Julia is not convinced, but admits who is she to judge ? Jimmi confirms to Mac that their marriage is an open one, but that their relationship is as solid as a rock. Mac is not convinced. Mac and Julia share a glance at what they have both been told, and they all toast Amanda’s reflexology clinic starting tomorrow, all more relaxed with their barriers down.
Meanwhile, Arthur and his wife Mary are in their 60’s. Arthur has chest pains, and Helen arranges for blood tests. Mary cooks extravagant food, the result of her beloved cooking class, which boosts her confidence, but Helen suggests that this boosts Arthur’s waistline. Unbeknown to Mary, Arthur sneaks out for huge plain meals, rather than eat his wife’s disastrous food, and sneakily likes nothing better than being a couch potato and doing whatever he likes; nothing. Arthur collapses with chest pains and is taken into hospital. It is in fact indigestion.
Arthur and Mary have different goals now that they have retired, Arthur to relax, Mary to experiment with new things. When Mary finds out about Arthur’s sneaky meals, she believes this involves a mistress, and in retaliation is determined to do what she likes. Mary and Arthur communicate, and realise that they have both been assuming what the other wants from their relationship for years. Mary wants to travel to see their family in South Africa. Arthur gives in, and will have a healthier diet.
'Invisible Woman'

Amanda arrives laden with items for her reflexology clinic. Sarah helps her carry items in from the car.
Mac noses into Amanda's consulting room, as Julia and Amanda unpack her belongings. Kate, Mac's ex wife calls on the phone, Amanda realises that Julia doesn't like Kate. It is Ciaran's birthday, but Mac remembered, although Julia completely forgot. Julia suggests that next year Ciaran share his birthday with Mac, which cheers Mac up.
Mac is suffering from neck ache, bit despite offers from Amanda for a massage, Mac is embarrassed. Julia and Amanda share a laugh at Mac's expense.
Amanda and Julia have lunch, Amanda is surprisingly negative about Julia's feng shui idea for the Health Centre.
Amanda gets too involved in a patient's private life, and Mac has to remind her to remain impartial and confidential. Amanda it is not a good start on her first day, which secretly pleases Sarah..
Julia and Mac discuss Amanda's patient, and Julia suggests that Mac does not always maintain a distance from patients either.
Meanwhile, Trisha has migraines, but her biggest pain is her out of work husband, Des. Des was working for a mate's business, when he had an accident, although he is fit to work now. Trish is not aware that Des received money from insurance for this injury. Trisha is also unaware that Des is having an affair with her work colleague, Mo; Trisha works in a cafe, but at least she thinks that she is appreciated there.
Trisha takes tablets for her migraines, but Mac suggests complimentary therapy with Amanda, which works well. Amanda unwittingly gets involved in Trisha's private life, and when Trisha finds out about Des's affair and the insurance money, kicks him out of the house. Mac has words with Amanda for not keeping a professional distance.
'Like Mother Like Daughter'

Sarah finds out she has some annual leave left to take but is maudlin over having nobody to go on holiday with. Julia suggests she catch up with family and cleaning or go on her own. Sarah thinks this is weird. Greg and Jimmi tease her about the various destinations to which she could go, Jimmi regaling her with tales of his adventures abroad.
George and Amanda bond over complementary therapy and George decides to have some reflexology from Amanda.
Sarah and Jimmi are laughing about a patient that’s been bugging them all day and Amanda Is keen to know what the joke is. Jimmi says it will take too long to explain and Amanda feel excluded.
Meanwhile, Greg encounters Darcy, a 16 year old with a family history of high blood pressure at the police station. She also has a history of alcohol and drug abuse. However, her current symptoms do not correlate with this.
Her blood pressure is abnormally high but she can’t bring herself to disclose the real reason for the acuteness of her symptoms. It emerges that she is pregnant, not for the first time and she can’t face up to admitting this to her father, for whom it is a sore issue due to Darcy’s mother being unfaithful to him and falling pregnant.
