Jimmi speaks to Julia and retracts his resignation, saying that Amanda has had the all clear so they won't be going to California after all.
Helen finally agrees to talk to Marc who tells her all about Cara. Helen wonders why he came back to Letherbridge, suggesting that he came back to gloat about his new life, but Marc insists he would not want to make Helen unhappy. He goes to leave, but Helen reaches out for him - just as Julia interrupts, oblivious.
Meanwhile, Greg sees Laura Aherne, an agoraphobic who insists she needs stronger sleeping pills to combat her anxiety. She becomes anxious when she leaves the consulting room to find that her son Bradley has disappeared, so Greg goes outside to look for him, finding him practising his one love - free running.
His mum doesn't approve because she thinks it's dangerous, but this is Bradley's way of getting away from caring for his mother. Bradley supports his mother home and is furious when he realises the doctor prescribed more pills, reminding his Mum that she promised to start coming off them. Furious at her dependence on him and her refusal to help herself, he takes the pills and runs away from home, but ends up at the police station when he is caught for trespassing.
Greg treats him at the station, and agrees to talk to Laura about her dependence on pills and Bradley, but when they get to the house, they find Laura cowering on the roof, having ventured out to search for her son. Bradley feels guilty at leaving her, but Greg talks to Laura and makes her realise that her son needs his freedom, and that she needs to start trying to come off the pills and start accepting other forms of treatment.
