I have to say Poirot is one of my favourites - when the role is being played by David Suchet, that is.

I have to say Poirot is one of my favourites - when the role is being played by David Suchet, that is. Agreed. Suchet is the best Poirot ever and, for someone who doesn't speak French, his pronunciation is excellent.

Yes, definitely! Also, I think he gets everything else right - the whole look (ok so much is due to wardrobe/make-up) but the way he portrays Poirot, the mannerisms, etc. - just as I perceived him to be when I first read the Agatha Christie novels. Parfait!

Ouep, parfaitement parfait. ;D I read on wiki that Suchet read all the books in order to be as close to Agatha Christie's character as he could. He knows every tiny detail.

He must have interpreted the character just right then - the same as us! I read somewhere too that he wants to do all the Poirot stories, he must really enjoy playing the part.
