Did anyone watch the eurovision thing tonight?
Who do you think should have won? Did you agree with the result?
I do think Andy Abraham is quite good although Michelle Gayle is the one that I would have chosen. I thought her song was just a little bit more eurovisiony.
I don't suppose it really matters anyway because England won't win as countries only vote for their neighbouring countries now, theres all that Eastern block voting and stuff.
But who do you think should have won anyway?

No, I was listening to the City of Rochester Symphonic Orchestra. Marystone plays the viola in the orchestra and tonight's concert was fabulous. It was entitled "A Viennese Gala".
Who won ? How were GB and France ? I guess we were rubbish as usual...

It's the first time I've ever watched any of the 'choose a song/band for Eurovision' type programs - & I can remember good old barefooted Sandie Shaw as our entrant upmteen years ago. Anyway, I quite liked that girl band, it seemed a typical Eurovision type song. The person the viewers chose is a great singer, but I didn't think his song would win the contest.

I only watched the end result. Could not believe the result. What a bad song, it sounds like a bad karaoke song. Thought that Michelle Gayle's song was only slightly better. I agree with Lara as I don't understand why we enter as we are never going to win with the political voting that goes on in the competition.

I too think that the UK shouldn't be bothering with it any more, but I read somewhere that apparently because the UK is one of a small group of core countries that puts money and other support into the whole thing, we automatically get the right to enter a song - we don't have to compete in heats beforehand to have the right to take part - so I guess that the UK feels obliged to take part (though personally, I am beginning to think that that money is wasted and could be put to better use).

When I wrote "we" in my previous post, I meant France not the UK. I hope no one thought I was being rude to you guys.

No I didn't think you were being rude and know that I know you are French that will give me another country to support during the song contest as lets face it England have absolutely no chance of winning, no matter how good the song is nobody will vote for us.
LP, last night wasn't actually the proper thing, it was the BBC's making your mind up thing where the Uk's act is chosen. So I don't know what France's entry is like although I'm sure its not rubbish! ;D ;D
