it has come to our attention that you don't want/like our posting on your message board. this has confused us slightly as we haven't said anything hurtful, and if we have we didn't realise it.

now we are rather upset that this has happened as we enjoy coming on here and reading the fanfictions, (there is a lot of talent on this board), its also nice to read the comments about Doctors!

we don't want to cause problems on the board so we shall no longer come on here.

we also believe that SG posted on here earlier in a reply to a thread titled 'Sandcastles' saying 'goodbye' to them members, it seems you have deleted this thread, which in itselfs is very hurtful.

again we are sorry for coming on here, we never meant to cause problems, we just wanted to post feedback to the wonderful fanfictions we'd read.

goodbye all, maybe one day we'll be able to return and not face the same problems.

I am very glad you enjoy coming on the board, i believe that we are a nice group on here and i am very sorry if we have done anything to offend you, although i am sure we haven't.

A message was posted by SG in the thread 'Sandcastles' and it was me who deleted it as i felt that some of the comments were unfair. It made us seem like a bunch of ungrateful people. I am sorry that you find that so hurtful but some of the comments were hurtful to members.

I am sorry that you feel unable to come on the boards anymore, i hope that one day you will return.

I’d like to add a bit to Katrina’s explanation because I feel this issue should really be discussed. The “people” in question are, in fact, one person, whose identity is well known to both Katrina and myself. This person has chosen, for a reason, I agree, to post under another user name than the one we know. The use of more than one user name is rather common in forums and there is nothing wrong in it. Moreover, sometimes you must use another name (for example, in another forum I’m a member of, which is a sports one, I can’t always use my real name because I am a race marshal and I mustn’t reply to competitors’ questions due to the position I have, so if I want to point anything out I must use another name. BUT, and this is something I want to emphasise, both identities are mine, and mine alone.)

When registering to this forum we sign an agreement contract. We agree not to use other member’s identity ever. I believe that this rule should also guide us in the case of other people’s identities even if they are not members of this forum. The person in question has tried very hard to create the impact that the feedback from “CW”, “SG” and all the “others” actually came from the actors of “Doctors”, using their initials and giving “little” hints like the number of x’s in the signature that matched the number in the names and so on. Later on one of the replies even said “me” with referral to one of the characters in the series. This, by any means, is an act of deception and can not under any circumstances get a forgiving reaction. Impersonating the Doctors’ cast does not respect this forum and its members, and also does not respect the actors themselves who are prevented from responding on any other message board but the BBC’s by their contracts.

The person in question was informed by me that this act of impersonating should be stopped at once and was offered the chance to register on this board using another nickname to be able to post feedback as desired. Instead, this person posted a very unfair reply signed “SG” – this reply, as Katrina mentioned above, was deleted immediately by Katrina due to my demand, as I found it insulting and not respecting us (thank you Katrina for being so quick). Then the post above came in an attempt at a clean escape. Still, I find it a bit annoying as it seemed that this person had missed the real reason for our request to quit posting under these names and hence my very detailed reply here.

Since giving this person hints and understating did not work I post here a public call.

Dear post maker. We know who you are, and we are not angry with you. We just want to make clear that claiming to be who you’re not is an act not to be done. We never had a problem with your feedback but the identities you’ve picked were inappropriate. It is not funny, the whole forum and its admins can be put under charge and I’m sure you would not want that to happen. Please, pick yourself a name, register, and start posting. The only person who has access to users’ profiles is Katrina and she has a forgiving heart. In fact, you already saw her reply, she was willing to forgive you immediately and even apologised to you while I am still the “bad” one pushing for a public call. You can be sure Katrina will not expose you as she kept your identity secret earlier. Our aim is not to put people down, but to make this message board a respectable and successful one, a board that would be able to receive the BBC approval eventually, or at least could proudly be called “The Unofficial Doctors Fan-site”. Your feedback was funny, interesting and highly appreciated by us writers. I hope you can see through the initial hurt and understand you’ve made a mistake. Now you know better. I see this case as closed now. Let’s put this unpleasant incident behinds us. I’m sure you want that too.

p.s. just to make things clear: all written above is not a formal admin statement. This forum has only one admin, and it’s Katrina. Since I was involved in this business I felt I had to post the way I see this incident too, as we don’t always see things eye to eye and I thought I could explain the stern reaction better.
