Kate was Mac's ex-wife. She was the one who split him and Julia up originally and during the first time they were together they had a son Ciaran together. Then Julia returned and Mac left Kate for her. Then in 2006 Mac started an affair with Kate and eventually left to be with her and Ciaran.

Kate was practice manager at the first surgery which I think was called Riverside (it was about 8 years ago and I do have senior moments). At the time she was married to Mac. Later she was receptionist at the second surgery (the name of which I can't remember at all). She went off with some locum Doctor but later got back with Mac. I don't think she was ever at the Mill.

BTW I am now a partner!!!!
