I am delighted to see that the programme is following the storyline of a grandmother being denied contact with her granddaughter. I run a support group based in Bristol to support grandparents in this heartbreaking situation. There are over one million children in the UK denied contact with grandparents, due to separation/divorce,alcohol/drug issues, domestic violence, bereavement and family feud. I sincerely hope that the producer knows how serious a storyline this is, I have grandparents in my group who are so devastated they try to end it all. It is a problem that GP's should be aware of.

I've found all the scenes with Julia missing her granddaughter incredibly touching, especially when she saw a similar-looking child in reception, and had to run off in tears. I hope they follow this storyline through and give some sense of the battle that grandparents have to go through.
I wish you all the best with your group.

I'm glad this subject is being aired,as it causes heartbreak and despair to many grandparents.I hope it is treated with sympathy and sensitivity.Colleagues distracting Julia with zumba classes is farcical and unhelpful.
