Oh lordy. At a certain point in this episode, I felt a strong urge to stick my boot through the television screen, but as it's plasma it wouldn't have made that satisfying shattering sound. What is it with Howard and his ex-soldiers? It was always fun when an old friend of Julia's dropped by, but now it looks as if every other man in Letherbridge served under Major Bellamy. And I really couldn't give a fig for the whole big fat gypsy bare knuckle fighting story. Also, the Emma story is being dragged on forever...it's all about the rape of a woman who'd only appeared in a couple of episodes, so I'm really not sure why we should be interested. And then Chris's heroic battle to be a DJ on university radio? Words fail me.

We were spoiled last week with all the Mr & Mrs Tembe and Gordon stories. Now the show seems to be treading water again.
