Yep - sure will. We usually have a small bonfire and a few fireworks for the family. Plus hot dogs, jacket potatoes, soup and marshmallows!! Love it! Now the grandchildren are reaching an age where they enjoy it too.

what's november 5th? is it a religious holiday? uk holiday? global one?
the only thing we have is november 4th- the day that ten years ago our peace seeking prime-minister was murdered by a religious fanatic... not exactly a nice day to celebrate.

November the 5th is also known as "firework night" or "Guy Fawkes night". Guy Fawkes and his friends plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament during the reign of James I. The plot was discovered and the conspirators were hung, drawn and quartered. Took this bit of the net for further information:
THE GUNPOWDER PLOT
"Remember, remember The 5th November Gunpowder treason and plot We see no reason Why gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot!"
On the night of November 5th, throughout Britain, bonfires are set alight, effigies are burned, and fireworks are set off. The people do this to commemorate their country's most notorious traitor: Guy Fawkes. In 1605, Guy Fawkes and a group of conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament to kill the King, James I and the entire Parliament.
Hope that helps.

yep, it helps.
funny, you celebrate the fact that the guy didn't succeed...i wonder if you'd have any fireworks if he did.
so why are you planning to hide, kat? is this another tradition?

no me hiding is not a tradition. it's because of the fireworks though, i hide because i hate (and am terrified by) the bangs the fireworks make.
