cool taste! i can't recall even a tenth of my 4000 cd's. and i listen to music usually in "eras" so now i'm in the dance era. and i like mostly things that have no lyrics to bother me with other people's pety problems. in dance area i prefer break-beat, electro, drum & base+gungle, free style and a bit of house - but the uk version- not chicago style. in rock i like what happened in the 90's, mostly in the uk, again. preferred lables: mute, 4ad (mostly indie), little indian... a few names: house of love, cure, style council, coctue twins, sugarcubes, pixies, belly, breeders, manic street peachers, supregrass, blur (especially the first albums), pulp (can't stand oasis and coldplay, sorry - they are too americanised for me...)... singer songwriters - like only women. can't stand whining men... a few names: bjork, melissa etheridge, kate bush (just bought her latest, really good!), kd lang, kirsty maccoll (of course), meshell ndgeocello, suzanne vega... pop - i'm a pop brat. i love mostly every stupid pop band that existed in the 80's, (excluding the horrible german europop), and i do love pop even today - everything from spice girls (have everything the've recorded incl. rareties) to sugababes, from kylie to the scissor sisters... kill me, i don't mind, but a well produced pop song make me feel great! also love some artists that began as carefree pop idols and have grown up to have an attitude: george michael, cyndi lauper, annie lennox, jimmy somerville, marc almond..... gay music - i'm a devoted collector, not always listen to all of it. somehow gay men's music is much more cheerful than gay women's music and i don't like to feel more depressed than i usually am. (gay men's attitude would be -"we are heavily opressed - so let's have a party to forget it all" and the women would say "we are heavily opressed - so let's write another sad song to tell the world about our suffering..." .. .) legends - david bowie, beatles... i think no real music lover can live without jazz - prefer female vocalists: billie holiday, ella fitzgerald, sarah voghn, diane krall. also love standards like cole porter's and other from that time. blues - john lee hooker, buddy guy, bb king think i'll stop here.... i also have not too few original motion pictures' soundtracks, ethnical music and some israeli music as well... AND I DON'T LIKE MADONNA! that's it, i think. bear with me if i mispelled any of the names. after some names i got tired of going to my cd shelves to check for the correct name spelling.

A few of mine. But I do like a lot more. ;D
The Beatles. Abba. Pet Shop Boys. Will Young. Bob Marley. Kirsty MacColl.
And I dont like Madonna either. ( The music at the back of her latest is a rip-off from Abba's 'Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. a man after midnight )

I have to say I do like Madonna...the Abba music was agreed with the group..I believe they were flattered when she asked. Saying that I think it sounds more like Doctor Who than Abba. I love the new album as well. My big favourite is Elvis..always has been always will be. But with the Beatles following closely..also love most 60s music.
