My fanfiction
Its a one parter about Nick and George. A continuation of No Way Out Part 2.
I realise that was nearly a year ago now and that one of the characters is now dead but hey.
Also this is my first fanfiction ever, not just Doctors, lol. So I hope its alright, enjoy.
Much Needed Comfort
Nick lay on top of George fast asleep. They had been kissing passionately when all of a sudden Nick had become exhausted and rested his head on her. Within moments he had fallen asleep. George did not feel disappointed that it had not gotten any further. She already felt bad about kissing Nick and knew that, deep down, she could not have gone any further with him. She could not bear what that would have done to Ronnie. Besides, Nick was clearly very tired and he needed to sleep, looking down at him she felt sure that he hadn’t gotten a good nights sleep in ages.
She lay there and gazed at him for a few more moments enjoying watching him sleeping on her. She still felt deep affection for him.
Suddenly, the feeling of guilt washed over her again, this time more strongly than before. What was she still doing here? Ronnie would be wondering where she was, why she was taking so long. She should go home to him and Bracken. She had already lied to him about being at the Icon Bar and now she had kissed Nick as well. The kiss. She didn’t know how she was going to handle that. She loved Ronnie and she couldn’t lie to him, but she didn’t want to hurt him either. A serious situation. But the best thing she could do right now would be to leave and go home.
She somehow managed to move out from underneath Nick, it being difficult with the full weight of his body on top of her. However, she managed to do it as gently and slowly as possible so as not to wake him.
He murmured something in his sleep and shifted his arm but thankfully did not wake up. George stood there for a moment gazing lovingly down at him. Carefully she knelt down beside him and gently stroked his cheek. “Bye Nick” she whispered softly.
She got up and quietly made her way over to the door, intending to leave right now without looking back. She put her hand on the door handle and started to turn it, then suddenly stopped and froze. Soft noises could be heard behind her. She turned slowly around and her heart immediately went out to him.
Nick was still laying there, just as he had been, but he was no longer asleep. He was now fully awake and weeping softly, his face buried in the sofa.
Unable to leave him in this state, George walked quickly back over to him and helped him into a sitting position. He stared down, tears running down his face, refusing to look at her and meet her eyes.
George sat down next to him and looked at him, full of pity and compassion for him. “Oh Nick” she murmured softly, her voice full of love and tenderness. She put her arms around him and began to slowly pull him towards her. To her surprise he came willingly and without resistance. Placing one hand on the back of his head she gently guided him to her shoulder where he buried his face in her, now crying openly, his hot tears already soaking through the fabric of her blouse.
In her arms George could feel his poor body shaking and trembling so she wrapped them even tighter around him and held him about as close as was humanly possible.
“Stay….George…..please…..” he managed to get out between sobs, his voice trembling as he pleaded desperately with her.
“Sssshhh” she murmured soothingly “It’s ok, everything’s going to be alright. I’m here and I’m not going anywhere. Sssshhh…..”
She began to rub slowly in small soothing circles on his back. Nick let out a deep shuddering sigh and George knew that he was feeling some comfort from this, that her words and her touch were reassuring him.
As she continued to hold him and rub his back, her heart wrenching for him, she thought again of Ronnie. He would be waiting for her at home, wondering when she would be back but she couldn’t really think of that right now. Not when Nick was crying in her arms like this. He was relying on her right now and taking comfort in her. Poor love she thought. He needed her, needed to hear her soothing words and feel her soft, comforting arms around him. She couldn’t leave him at the moment, couldn’t just get up and walk out on him. Not in this state, she would stay for a while.
Nick sobs had slowly begun to subside a little bit and George noticed this. “That’s it” she said, her voice barely above a whisper, “That’s a good boy”, talking to him as if he was a small child, but she thought he needed it right now. “You’re going to be ok, I’ve got you, sssshhh….”
Nick didn’t loosen his grip on her, still clutched her tightly to him, but George could tell it was working, she was getting through to him. He was still scared and very upset but he was slowly calming down. She continued to comfort him, stroking his hair and neck softly.
