Part 1
Ronnie and George Woodson climbed in to one of their cars, ready to drive to work. The sun was already blazing which was unusual for British weather but other than that today seemed to be just like every other day.
Ronnie: (singing) Woodson’s, we’re the Woodson’s The greatest family in history From the town of Letherbridge We’re a page right out of a book
George looked at Ronnie but quickly shook the idea out of her mind, no way had she just heard her husband singing.

A Little while later, George was sat in the car all by herself, she was on the way back to the surgery from a couple of normal home visits
George: (singing) Home visits across the town Driving in my little car all by myself Home visits across the town Only going forward cos I can’t find reverse
Kids are faking illness, Helen Illness Helen, illness Helen Kids are faking illness Helen Its exam time again

Part 2
Sarah stood behind the desk, she was wearing a black top hat and a black jacket, she seemed to have just stepped off the stage of a tap-dance show. George shook her head, again. A few seconds later Helen and Greg came sweeping in to the room, Helen in a floaty white ball-gown and Greg was wearing what appeared to be his best suit. Greg was holding Helen’s hands and guiding her around the room, they were like professional ballroom dancers. They went back in to their rooms a few minutes later. Mac and Julia came in to the room, Mac seemed to have taken Ali G as his latest role model and Julia well George wasn’t quite sure who she was dressed like. Both of them bopped like teenagers for a second before returning to their rooms. Faith was the last one of to come in to the room; she was dressed normally in her nurse’s uniform, she looked at George and smiled, she threw herself down on the ground and started break dancing. When she was done the other doctors appeared behind the reception desk,
Helen+Faith+Mac+Julia+Sarah+Faith+Greg: (singing) Doctors, Oh Doctors, Doctors We make people better And they never come back
Doctors, oh doctors, doctors We work hard each day And we play hard every night
George just stared at them, they looked at her as if she was mad,
Helen: you alright George? You look like your seen a ghost
George felt like laughing, why was Helen asking if she was ok, Helen was the one wearing a ball-gown at work and singing strange songs.

Part 3
George grabbed her patient notes from the reception desk and walked in to her room trying to stay calm, in the reception room she’d left what she considered to be the strange alien replacements of her work mates. As she sat down her door opened and to her relief a normal looking man entered, wearing a normal shirt and normal trousers. George looked at the first set of notes
“ah Mr Smith, what can I do for you” the man looked at her for a second before he opened his mouth and began to sing
“I gotta back ache, I gotta back ache I gotta back ache What cha gonna do
I gotta back ache I gotta back ache I gotta back ache What cha gonna do”
George stared at him, he sat down and smiled
“the problem is I got back ache”
“well, erm” George stumbled everything she’d learned at med school seemed to drop out of her head. “what about painkillers” Mr Smith looked at her
“I’ll take the painkillers I’ll take the painkillers I’ll take the painkillers Well thank you doc”
George smiled at him as he left the room, when he was gone she leant back in her chair, it was going to be a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg day.

Part 4
A little while after Mr Smith left her room, George heard a strange music coming from the reception, groaning slightly she stood up and left the room, she peeked through the double doors and watched – Helen, Mac, Julia, Sarah and Greg were stood around in front of the reception desk while Faith was sat on a chair in front of them. Helen, Mac, Julia, Sarah and Greg where alternating between pointing to themselves to pointing at Faith. George felt like leaving the room but something stopped her
Helen+ Faith+ Mac+ Julia+ Sarah+ Faith+ Greg: (Singing) We are the cheeky Docs We are the cheeky Docs You are the cheeky Nurse You are the cheeky Nurse We are the cheeky Docs We are the cheeky Docs You are the cheeky Nurse You are the cheeky Nurse
They all then turned and smiled at George, they pointed at her
Helen+ Faith+ Mac+ Julia+ Sarah+ Faith+ Greg: (Singing) Come n join the cheeky med club This is what you want Come n sing the cheeky med song Our cheeky med song Come n join the cheeky med club This is what you want Come n sing the cheeky med song Our cheeky med song Come and smile don’t be shy Touch my stethoscope this is life
They all started to move towards George arms out stretch, George began to panic. What the heck was going on?

Part 5
Part 5
George ran from her place behind the reception door, she ran towards her room, but everyone else was just as fast. George ended up behind her desk, everyone crowded around her and smiled, music seemed to fill the room from nowhere, and George groaned recognizing the sign
Helen+ Faith+ Mac+ Julia+ Sarah+ Faith+ Greg: (Singing) Can you tell me your illness please? Let’s diagnose to the beat A mill health centre, a mill health centre A riverside surgery And a mill health centre A mill health centre, a mill health centre A riverside surgery And a mill health centre Best practice, best practice A riverside surgery And a mill health centre Best practice, best practice A riverside surgery And a mill health centre We like them, we love them, We love to come to them The voices we hear Whenever they're near by We want them, we need them Nothing else can beat them Healthy and hygienic Whenever I'm around Enticing, excited Patients are invited And when I inject them I know there safe to roam Trust me you must see Just what they're doing to me Driving me crazy I’m a doctor to the bone
George looked at them all; everyone looked exactly as they had yesterday. She desperately wanted to reach out and touch their skin just to check they still felt human but she knew she couldn’t “Are you ok?” George spoke quietly,
“Why would you think any differently George?” Mac smiled at her,
“Maybe it’s lack of sleep. George, have you and Ronnie been having a lot of late nights recently?” Sarah smiled and winked, George just looked at them gob smacked.

Part 6
George felt like grabbing all of them and shaking them hard by the shoulders but the way she was feeling right now that probably wasn’t the best idea, a court case wasn’t something she really wanted to go through.
“George, you’re as white as a sheet, look I think it’s best that you take the rest of the afternoon off. Besides it’ll give you time to get over those late nights” Julia smiled at George, who felt very relived at the idea of being able to get away from this mental house. Slowly she began to walk out of her room and towards the exit, everyone followed smiling and waving. George drove home and went straight up to bed, she fell asleep immediately. In her dream she saw the shadowy figures of her colleagues.
Mac: (singing) she will never say what went on Cos yesterday don’t matter when it’s gone While the sun is bright or in the darkest night No one will know she came and went
Helen+ Faith+ Mac+ Julia+ Sarah+ Faith+ Greg: (Singing) Goodbye George Wednesday Who could hang the blame on you? When you saw us acting strangely Now we’re really sorry
Slowly the dream faded, and in the distance George heard her name being said, slowly she felt herself being drawn towards it, her eyes opened and over her stood Ronnie. He smiled softly.
“Good morning sleeping beauty” he gently stroked his wife’s cheek. George didn’t recognize where she was. She began to panic
“You collapsed at work, Helen rang an ambulance. You had to have your appendix out” George shook her head
“It was real. You sang, and Helen sang and Mac too. And Faith break-danced” Ronnie smiled at his wife
“And you also went to Oz right, with Toto and the cowardly lion? George, you’ve been out under anaesthetic. I can assure you I haven’t been singing and I’m pretty sure Faith doesn’t break-dance although I will check with her. now just rest. I’m going to go ring Helen to tell her you’re ok” George smiled softly and Ronnie began to walk out of the room, but George heard him singing softly
Ronnie: (singing) Woodson’s, we’re the Woodson’s The greatest family in history From the town of Letherbridge We’re a page right out of a book
George closed her eyes and feel asleep again, still convinced that everything had really happened, whether it had or not, well I’ll let you decide.
THE END
