This fic is only a few parts, so i will probably post it all today given it's a Halloween fic. anyway here's the first part
Part 1
“Aren’t they cute?” George grinned madly as she watched, from the window, as the troop of eight Halloween creatures bounded up the garden path behind them, with less enthusiasm, walked Greg and Sarah. Ronnie, who was also watching, was looking nervous. George turned to him, and giggled softly
“Ronnie, don’t look so nervous, they’re a bunch of kids and you need the practise for when this little one comes, and besides that, you said I couldn’t go so it’s only fair that you do” the doorbell rang and George went to answer it with Ronnie still looking out of the window, trying to think of a way to get out of it When she opened the door, nine small hands reached towards her, each one holding a small hallowed out plastic pumpkins. George smiled; she reached backwards and grabbed a plastic bowl from a side table filled with different coloured lollies. She placed one in each pumpkin and got a thank you from every kid. Sarah and Greg both looked at her sulkily
“Don’t we get any sweeties” the two whined causing the children to laugh hysterically. George rolled her eyes at them
“I would but you aren’t wearing costumes” Sarah and Greg frowned
“We so are. I’m an off duty receptionist and Greg’s an off duty doctor” George rolled her eyes again but she smiled good naturedly
“Are you going to trick me if I don’t?” Sarah and Greg looked at each other, and shrugged. A small vampire turned to Greg and passed him a fully-loaded small water pistol. Greg smiled as he looked at it. The vampire grinned cheekily. Greg lifted the water pistol and put his finger on the spray button. Ronnie appeared behind George just as Greg pressed the button, water sprayed directly at him and George who laughed.
“Water. Ooh very scary Greg” with that she pushed Ronnie out the door before shutting it. She went to the window and waved at them as they walked away. She laughed again as she thought of Greg trying to get her wet.
“Ok kids where first” Ronnie, Sarah and Greg along with the children were stood at the end of the street trying to decide where to go first.
“Can we go over by the haunted house” the cheeky vampire Benjamin asked. He was hopping impatiently from one foot to the other. Ronnie, Sarah and Greg looked at each other and then back at Benjamin
“The what?” Ronnie looked sceptical, he wasn’t sure that this was the best idea.
“The old Davison mansion. It’s haunted, my brother Alex went by there and he saw a person in the window, but nobody lives there” Ronnie frowned
“But if nobody lives there what’s the point, you won’t get any treats will you?” Ronnie was frowning; he didn’t like the idea of going to a ‘haunted’ mansion.
“Maybe the ghost is friendly like Casper, it’ll give us treats” either Rebecca or Isabella said, Ronnie couldn’t tell which one it was, Sarah and Greg had ‘forgotten’ to tell him that Rebecca had a purple witches wig while Isabella’s was green. Sarah and Greg giggled at what Rebecca told them.
“Looks like its decided” Sarah and Greg moved to the front of the group and started leading them, Ronnie stood at the back. When the mansion came in to view, Ronnie felt a tug at his jacket, he didn’t stop but he saw a little brown haired girl stood there.
“I’m scared, Ronnie” little Madison said in her tiny lispy voice. Ronnie stopped, and so did she. She looked up at him, her dark eyes looked terrified. Ronnie gently picked her up and balanced her on his hip.
“it’s ok, see I’ll hold you and we won’t go all the way to the house, we’ll just watch the others” Ronnie smiled “I’m a little scared of the house too” Madison giggled at the idea of a grown man frightened. She wrapped her little arms around Ronnie neck along with her sewn on tail. Sarah, Greg and the rest of the children stood at the gates of the house. When Ronnie and Madison got there Madison buried her head in Ronnie’s neck. Ronnie caught Sarah and Greg looking worriedly at the house and then at each other. Even he had to admit the house did look like somewhere where a ghost might live, it was made worse by the fact it was almost pitch black out. In fact Ronnie telling Madison he was scared was not completely a lie.
“Are you sure you want to go there?” Sarah looked around the group, hoping that they’d all say no. Benjamin grinned
“Chicken are you?” Benjamin clucked for a few seconds. Sarah put on a brave face
“of course not. Come on, anyone who doesn’t want to come stay with Ronnie and Maddy” Greg and Sarah opened the gates which took a while as they were heavy and needed a good oil. All the children apart from Madison trooped inside. The children ran towards the house and before they went after them, Greg and Sarah turned back to Ronnie who stuck his tongue out at them. When they got to the door of the house, Sarah felt the hairs stand up on the back of her neck. She grabbed hold of Greg’s hand and waited while Benjamin, his devilish pal William and his cowboy pal Joshua rang the doorbell, behind them Rebecca and Isabella were gripping each others hands tightly as were Emily and Matthew. Everyone’s eyes on the closed door, every second made Sarah feel more and more frightened. She held Greg’s hand tighter, and then …….
