Part 2
Rebecca Reynolds slowly walked towards the beach, wanting to feel the sand beneath her toes again, today was her first day in this new place, she’d gotten bored of her last home so after a bit of hassle moved here, back to the sea. She smiled as she stepped on to the golden sand, it was warm between her toes, ahead of her she could see the sparkling water of the sea. She began to walk slowly towards it, suddenly filled with memories. She stopped dead as she the icy water touched her toes, water was a shock to her warm skin but she didn’t move. She had been waiting so long for this. To her left she could hear the gentle laughter of a child, Rebecca turned her head slightly and almost did a double take, the child was an exact double of, Rebecca shook her head trying to get rid of the memory. Rebecca turned back to look at the sea unable to look at the child any longer. A few minutes later, Rebecca was shocked to hear a sharp cry coming from the direction in which the child had been; Rebecca felt her blood run cold, it couldn’t be happening again. She turned sharply the child was no longer sat near her bucket; she was sat in the sea. Every few seconds a bigger wave came at the child, Rebecca rushed towards the little girl, she couldn’t let history repeat itself, she reached the child in record time, she scooped the little girl up in her arms and smiled. This time she’d been quick enough. Rebecca turned and looked around the beach; the only person in sight was sat towards the rocks near the end of the beach, Rebecca, still carrying the crying child, moved quickly towards the person. The woman raised her head when Rebecca got close; the two women gasped as they looked at each other, painful memories filled the heads of both women. Rebecca looked at the child, gently placing her down on the ground. Then she turned away and ran. The little girl looked confused, she stared after Rebecca and when she was out of sight the child turned to her mother, Claire Guildford.
