I can totally sympathise with that. Are you AS or A2? The workload is mental, it's gone from "do this essay for a week on Monday" at GCSE to "I expect this essay in the next time I see you." "But Sirrrr, that's tomorrow!" *Teacher shrugs* o.O Thank goodness I love my subjects. If I didn't, something significantly criminal would have happened to my school. Like arson.
I'm at As so I've got A2 to look forward to . It's crazy how much it changes from GCSE especially when you have 2 teachers for each subject and they both set a mountain of Homework each.
The music started playing in the small hospital chapel. Daniel realised what a whirlwind twenty four hours it had just been. He had fought so hard to get this wedding today, and its all he wanted. Daniel had invited Julia as she had been so supportive to them both. She had phoned to see how Zara was and she was ecstatic to hear about the engagement. He had also invited Jimmi as he had been such a good friend for the past few years and Jimmi brought Cherry along. It was a very small chapel so Daniel did not want to invite anymore people and he knew that Zara wanted a small quiet wedding with family and friends.
Zara had spent the night with her father. Jed did not look too good and he was feeling very ill. The nurse kept giving him pain killers throughout the night. Zara and Daniel both knew that he didn’t have much time left. It didn’t take a doctor to work that out. Jed fell asleep holding onto Zara’s hand whilest Zara fell asleep in Daniel’s arms. After three months of Zara not being in his arms Daniel felt so happy that she was finally there, and he didn’t have to worry about Lisa and her paranoid ways. Tomorrow was going to be the best day of his life. Then he kissed Zara on the head and fell asleep.
The next day Zara woke up first. She was trying to catch her breath as everything had happened so quickly. She was engaged to be married in a few hours and her father was dieing in front of her. She gradually moved away from Daniel and tried not to wake him up. She then went to the toliets and looked in the mirror. ‘Oh my goodness I look so bad!’ Zara thought to herself, but Daniel hadn’t cared. All her make up had run down her face and her hair wasn’t brushed at all. She quickly cleaned herself up and went and got two coffees from the vending machine. When she got back Daniel and Jed were both awake talking and laughing about her.
‘Did you know what she did when....’ Jed had said unitl Zara walked in.
‘Daddy, I don’t think Daniel wants to know that,’ Zara said.
‘Believe me I do,’ Daniel said laughing at Zara.
‘Well I’m here now so you can’t talk about me,’ Zara said slightly annoyed.
‘Oh, thank you Zara,’ Daniel said as Zara gave him the coffee.
A few hours later Julia walked in with Isobel and she had brought flowers for them.
‘Julia hi, you brought Isobel?’ Daniel asked.
‘Yeah I went round to Lisa’s house this morning and explained and she said Isobel could come as I’m sure you wouldn’t have wanted to get married without her there.’ Julia said.
‘Thank you so much Julia,’ Daniel said taking Isobel into his hands.
‘How is Zara?’ Julia asked.
‘She is quite upset but I’m going to be there for her,’ Daniel said.
‘Well I’m glad you finally came to your senses because you too are so good together even if you do cause a rift in the surgery every time you have an arguement,’ Julia said.
Jimmi and Cherry had brought the dress from storage. Cherry said to Zara, ‘Can I do your make up and hair? Your going to look so beautiful.’
‘If I wanted to look like a tacky drag queen then yes, but I’m planning to look nice,’ Zara had said.
There was not much space to get ready as it was in a hospital so Zara found a spare room and put her make up on. Then she got Cherry and Julia to help do the dress up. She didn’t look over the top, but she looked so beautiful. Then her father walked in.
‘Zara, you look stunning. I’m so proud of you,’ Jed said with tears in his eyes.
‘Thank you Daddy,’ Zara said.
‘I can’t believe I’m going to walk my little girl down the aisle. I thought this wasn’t going to happen twenty four hours ago,’ Jed said.
‘I know I can’t believe this either,’ Zara said.
‘I will die happy now Zara. I love you,’ Jed said with tears streaming down his face.
‘I love you too Daddy,’ Zara replied hugging him.
Zara looked so beautiful. She was wearing her mothers wedding dress which was not big and puffy sleeved like the wedding dresses were at the time her mother got married. It was instead classy and showed Zara’s figure off well. Cherry was wearing a bright pink dress of course which Zara made clear she didn’t like at her wedding. Zara said to Daniel, ‘Everything’s so perfect, well almost,’ pointing at Cherry in her bright pink dress.
It was now the ceremony and Zara gripped onto her father who was very weak and had to keep sitting down. The registrar, who was a friend of Daniel’s, read out the vows to them.
Daniel was first, ‘I, Daniel, take you Zara to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live.’
Then Zara said her vows, ‘I, Zara, take you Daniel to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love.
At the end of her vows Zara and her father were both in tears. It meant so much to them both. Then the registrar said, ‘You may now kiss the bride,’ and Daniel took Zara into his arms and kissed her. Everyone in the room then crowded around them and congratulated them and Jimmi had taken lots of photos of the ceremony.
That night Jed was lying on the bed and he was even worse than he had been. He was now struggling to breath. Zara and Daniel had both changed out of their outfits as soon as the ceremony had finished which was when Jed took a turn for the worst. Zara and Daniel were sitting by the bed and Zara was trying to reassure her father, ‘Daddy, you’re ok just keep breathing,’ she had said calmly. Suddenly his chest wasn’t moving up and down anymore. Zara and Daniel both knew what was wrong. Zara tried everything to revive him, but nothing worked. She was helpless. She began to sob, ‘Daddy, Daddy.’
They left the hospital and pulled up in a hotel. Zara had stopped crying at this point, but she knew she couldn’t hold it back for long. When they got to their room Daniel took her in his arms and they spent the whole night like this. In the morning Daniel shirt was smudged with many black mascara stains all over it.
‘I’m so sorry Daniel. What a wedding night you had,’ Zara said sarcastically.
‘I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I want to be there for you,’ Daniel replied.
‘You’ve changed your tune. You were the guy who wanted to get every girl he could in bed and didn’t care about their feeling,’ Zara said.
‘I know. It’s because you’ve changed me. I love you
