Daniel is a nephew of Joe's (Daniel is also a Doctor) and in July/August he filled in for Nick while Nick was recovering from a car accident. However, Daniel has gambling problems and to cover these losses he apparently stole £50,000 from his last practice! We know he used a fake reference to attain his place at the Mill and he has stilted both Michelle and Melody romantically! As a consequence of his gambling debts poor Joe was harassed by violent loan sharks for most of the summer. Although, from memory, the last we saw of Daniel was him crying in a alleyway so maybe he is repentant. But as you can imagine he is your typical 'smooth-operator' of a soap villan and makes my blood boil, I have to throw things at the telly and boo whenever he appears on screen! My fear is that now Jimmi and Eva seem to have got together that they may 'move away' and Daniel will take Jimmi's place or that George may leave to avoid her feelings for Nick! Thanks ever so much for that. How could he go to the Mill as a doctor with a fake reference if Joe was there ? Doesn't he know about his nephew's activities ? And what do you mean "he apparently stole £50,000" ? Isn't that a sure thing ?
LOL to your comment about throwing things at your TV...
How do you feel about Jimmi and Eva ? I can't stand Eva and think that Jimmi shouldn't lose his time with her. She seems so determined to have him, it's like a personal challenge. I just hope they don't get together and that Jimmi moves on.
BTW, Melody is a bit too clumsy and naive...

Gosh, yes I agree with Nick who has posted here about Daniel... I do hope that he isn't going to be around long.. one of the great things about Doctors is that there are no real baddies amongst the regular cast.. unlike soaps like Eastenders, it's nice to have a programme where the cast are all really likeable (even Vivien has her moments). I don't want any of them to leave, as everyone has their favourites.
I am worried about George and Nick... I think it could work, but at the same time, I don't want her and Ronnie to split up.. they are the only family unit in the programme and I think it would upset the balance if we didn't have at least one married couple in the series. By the way, wasn't Ronnie planning to go and work in China for a while.. or is that not actually going to happen? (It was mentioned in the programme when his aunt and her lover came to stay).

That's right. So maybe George is sensing she'll be alone soon, and her kissing Nick might have been a way of looking for company... or more.
I wonder if George and Nick would work as a couple. She'll be staying out of guilt, or does she have real feelings for him ? I don't think that would be great.
I like Nick and don't want him to leave the series, but don't you think it's possible that he commits suicide ? or at least tries to ? He always looks so desperate...

Yes, it did cross my mind about suicide, but I don't think he will... (unless Michael McKell wanted to leave the programme)... I think it would be too out of character for Nick, maybe? There's an episode coming up (in the Spring I think), where he is involved in saving/rescuing Todd Carty in a car crash... so at least he's around a while longer. But I agree, he does always look so desperate.... (mind you, I'll be desperate if he leaves... I don't think I could watch the programme any more!!)

From what I can remember it is known that Daniel stole £50,000...I think a policeman said so in an earlier episode. And for the reference Daniel used friends of his in the GMC to lie to Julia about his past.
In reality I'm sure Daniel would have been struck off long ago!
I have to say that Jimmi and Eva seem a good couple, as Bellam says above maybe they could be the married couple to replace George and Ronnie. And I to hope that Nick doesn't leave...maybe this saving Todd Carty from a car crash could be a turning point for him, I certainly hope so!
BTW (lemonpig) don't call my beloved Melody clumsy or naive.... ;D...but one thing I will say against her is that she seems to be a bit shallow with her emotions, so far she's had eyes for Liam (Julia's son), Archie and Daniel!!!!

I don't think George has feelings for Nick other than friendship. You only have to see the recent episodes to see how much she loves Ronnie. She's been very silly and was sort of caught in a trap by Nick. Poor Ronnie  |
