"Nicholas West are you still with us " bellowed Mr.McGuire.Nick was sitting at the back of the class,swinging on his chair.He could think of many places that he would rather be for example touring with the Stones.And double maths first thing Monday morning was not one of them.You see Nick had formed his own band,and he was determined to make it big time!!!They just had a major gig last night,and some big wigs from London just happened to be in the audience,things were really looking up for this east end lad.
"Mr. West " bellowed McGuire again,only this time he looked like he might well explode."Yeah, whats the problem" replyed Nick
You see these two were old foes,and had countless run ins every week.Nick was suspended numerous times,in fact judgeing by the amount of time his mam spent in the headmasters office she could have been a member of staff.The main problem as far as Brendan McGuire was concerned was "her sons rebellious and defiant behaviour.
In one of thier regular meetings McGuire asked Mrs.West if she had any more like Nicholas at home.She paused for a moment and replyed : "Three and they are all the same".
McGuire poured himself a stiff drink and gave serious consideration to the prospect of early retirement.
With hius best mates goading him on at the back of the class,Nick swaggered up the the blackboard and set to work on the quadratic equation.One of McGuires pet hates was anyone who could find fault "with his method of doing things" or evenmore so prove him wrong!!Nick really knew just how to wind him up.He always got the correct answer only in a more straight forward route and half the time.He could be a great student,"when he choose to be".School just wasn't his thing,just a means of seeing his mates Jimmy ,Ronnie,Greg and Georgina.
His first love has always been music ,closely followed by Steve mc Queen films....
