The previous night he had picked up a woman in a bar and taken her home – his wife was away and he just went home for a nightcap he says. The next thing he remembers is waking up with a terrible hangover and his wallet and wife’s jewellery are missing. Greg suspects he may have been drugged and that it is linked to another incident. He takes a blood test.
Meanwhile, Tina and her 14 year old daughter Chloe are packing up to move. Tina wants to move to make a better life as Chloe has got in with a bad lot. Chloe is reluctant.

This is not at all what Tina wants; she can’t afford to move if she has a small baby. She calls George as the baby is unwell and hopes she will be able to sort something out.
Chloe arrives back as she sees George arriving. Chloe is keen to look after the baby. Tina wants George to sort out adoption and Chloe is shocked that her Mum can let the baby go. On George’s advice, Chloe shares her real feelings with her Mum, that all the time her Mum was pregnant she dreamed of having a baby brother or sister and now she has that chance. She helps her Mum see what’s important and Tina turns the removal men away.

Ellie is 19 and getting ready to go off to university. Ellie suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and is in a wheelchair. Her Mum, Andrea, fusses over her and her younger 16 year old brother Chris feels pushed out. Chris is a brilliant artist and loses himself in his drawings; his drawings are dark. Lately, he has also been feeling ill; suffering from fatigue and pains in his arms, but his mother ignores him.
Ellie’s carer falls through for university so it looks like she will have to wait another year. Chris takes the news badly; he loves his sister but he can’t cope with feeling invisible anymore.
Andrea decides she is going to be Ellie’s carer at University and Chris can move in with Gran; Chris is stunned. He storms out and goes to see his doctor, Greg. Chris tells him about his pains and fatigue and his concern that Ellie’s condition is hereditary. Greg suggests it is psychosomatic and a reaction to his anxiety to the situation at home. Greg also suggests he might see CFS as a way of getting the attention his sister has.
Andrea discovers some of Chris’s drawings. They reflect the desperation he has been feeling and Andrea is shocked.
Ellie, Chris and Andrea have a heartfelt discussion. Ellie is insistent that she will defer her place and tells her mother that she can’t live her life through her. Andrea had given up a place at University when she fell pregnant with Ellie and has devoted her life to looking after her daughter.
Ellie is resolute and decides she will be the one to move out and live with Gran. It will give her a chance to become more independent and give Chris some space.

Maude, a lady in her 60s, is also in the surgery to have her arm checked. She notices Kerry and her baby and tries to chat to them.
