George enters the staff room in a flourish having returned from a stay at her Mother's; having relished the pregnant attention. Mac is quiet as he walks in and leaves abruptly. Julia will not be in today. Faith wants to tell Helen about her weekend, but gets no further with information beside so many interruptions. George has brought back daft presents from her jaunt, which she hands out breezily, as her baby kicks, prompting more attention. George raises an eyebrow to meet Jimmi, and both flirt innocently.

Helen is concerned that Mac has been left with a drunken Marcia all weekend, and offers to go and see Marcia, unsure of a plan, but willing to help. Mac is touched and accepts her help.
Faith is reluctant to answer Helen's questions about Julia, maintaining that she called and said she would not be in today, but would be concentrating on finding accommodation for Marcia. Sarah is desperate for any information on what's going on, but Faith deflects. Helen tells them both she's popping to see Marcia now.
On Helen's arrival at Mac's home Marcia is drunk, and breaks down in front of Helen immediately.
Sarah pops in to see Mac, tentatively bringing up Marcia, and fishing for information. Mac apologises for his mood earlier. Sarah goes onto breed concerns for Helen's welfare visiting Marcia; after all she has not been well herself for long, and leaves. Mac is left guilty and concerned for Helen.
Marcia drinks more and offloads onto Helen. Helen is patient and professional, but wishes she were somewhere else. Marcia then becomes increasingly bitter; touching a nerve with Helen, but to her relief Julia arrives home. Helen does not know the whole story, but does not ask further, as Julia calmly tells Marcia she has found her a place in a clinic.
Marcia has packed and leaves Mac and Julia's house, despite offers to stay and help Julia patch it up with Mac. Julia declines and promises to visit her friend. Julia is shaken, and with Marcia gone does not have to pretend. Helen offers to listen. Julia tells Helen that this time her marriage is probably over.
Meanwhile, Donna Baker is a teenage mum-to-be who is attending the ante natal clinic at the Health Centre. Donna's relationship with boyfriend Jason is ok, but their relationship with Donna's Mum, Denise, is breaking down.
George suspects something is wrong deeper down, but gets nowhere. Denise returns to see George; she is pregnant herself and shell-shocked. Denise knows that the Father of her baby is Jason too. George is referee to both women as the truth is told. Donna and Denise return home, having resolved to work it out, agreeing that Jason has made a mistake. They walk in on Donna's Nan, a youthful Deirdre, having sex with Jason.
