EXCLUSIVE
Last fortnight, I interrogated ex-Dynasty actress Emma Samms – This week I was lucky enough to speak to Andrea Green (no relation, honest!) who stars as receptionist Sarah Finch in the daytime medical serial. Here’s how it went:
Kris: What’s the funniest thing to happen on set?
Andrea: The funniest times for me are when I find myself laughing for no apparent reason and the more I try to stop the funnier it becomes. This doesn’t go down too well when you’re in the middle of a really emotional scene, but again that makes it funnier!
Kris: How does your character compare with yourself?
Andrea: I’ve got a strange sense of humour and I’ve realised I’ve given Sarah one too. I like to think she’s very under-estimated and her humour often misunderstood.
Kris: Who is your favourite Character?
Andrea: I really couldn’t say. I think we’ve got a brilliant cast and they’ve all got strong characters. I love so many qualities of all of them.
Kris: Do you get on well with everyone?
Andrea: Yes, because we’ve got a relatively small cast and crew, we’ve become extremely close. I have made some really good friends and I’m going to be very sad when I leave them at Christmas.
Kris: What has been your most memorable on-screen and off-screen moments?
Andrea: The most memorable ‘on screen’ event was on the very final scene of Doctors shot at Pebble Mill – it was with my friend Corrine Wicks (who plays Dr. Helen Thompson). That was a weird one.
‘Off screen’ has to be meeting a very handsome cameraman on my first day, who later became my husband.
Kris: What are your plans for the future?
Andrea: To play lots of wonderful parts and hopefully be as happy as I have been playing Sarah in Doctors.
Kris: How long do you see yourself staying with Doctors?
Andrea: I’m actually leaving in December! I think the time has come for a new character and a new challenge. It will be sad leaving Miss Sarah Finch behind.
Kris: Sad news that you are leaving; how would you like Sarah to leave?
Andrea: Because I am actually leaving soon it’s hard to answer this, as I know how I go already. I can’t give anything away. I just hope Sarah Finch leaves having made her mark and with an audience left feeling sad to see her go.
I would like to thank Andrea for taking her time to speak with me and wish her all the best of luck for the future. She'll be going nowhere fast as she's sticking around on our screens until Easter.
