George is still recovering in hospital and Ronnie is doing his best to help her bond with Bracken.
George is not in a forgiving mood.
The new doctor arrives at the surgery and enjoys keeping Sarah and Julia on their toes.
Meanwhile, Fifteen year old Sadie is arrested for stealing a pregnancy test. Sadie already has a child and is not keen to keep this one. Her Mum, Maxine, has other ideas so Sadie urges her boyfriend Gary to go along with her and tell Maxine the test was negative.
Maxine finds out and is adamant that Sadie should have the baby. Sadie finally finds the strength to take control of her life.
'The First Cut – Part I'

Mac is considering Elizabeth’s request and Julia is considering ways to generate more funding.
Things are still strained between Ronnie and George, Ronnie doesn’t help matters by registering the baby’s name without consulting George.
Meanwhile, Tracey discovers her sister Della is self harming. Tracey has to take her sister to the surgery and is annoyed she has missed her audition.
A children’s home, where Della and Tracey used to be, has a virus outbreak. Della reveals that her state of mind is linked to what happened to her there.
A young girl at the home is very frightened..
'The First Cut – Part II'

George is furious when she discovers her baby’s name is official.
The Mill staff are avidly watching the Primary Care Trust DVD and trying out the Body MOT questionnaire.
Julia is unsettled that Elizabeth and Mac seem to be working so well together.
Meanwhile, Della’s sister Tracey arrives at the home ready for a confrontation.
The police are investigating but Della is finding it difficult to name her abuser.
Tracey realises she suspected the wrong man.
'A Slip Of The Mind'

Faith is running cholesterol tests on all the staff at The Mill Health Centre but the staff are not giving her an easy time -Elizabeth is far to busy to have it done and Greg is moaning that he wants it done early.
Faith has the results for Julia's cholesterol - she may be at risk of developing narrowed arteries.
In the meantime Julia and Mac are not on speaking terms. Everyone is excited - George is coming home from hospital with her new baby.
George is giving Ronnie a hard time she thinks Ronnie has been having an affair. Ronnie tries to explain but George is not interested.
Meanwhile, Bill is a a retired joiner who case s for his wife Amy who suffering from Alzheimer's.
They have just marked their golden wedding anniversary and Julia has gone round to drop off a card. Bill is struggling to take care of Amy but won't get help. Amy's illness is getting worse and often talks about Ted her ex boyfriend in great detail - This is tormenting Bill and resents Amy for it.
Julia notices that Bill has started to negligent Amy - her hair is knotted and her bedding is dirty. Julia tries to reassure and comfort Bill - Bill breaks down and tells Julia he believes Amy has has an affair when they first got married. Julia tries to explain to Bill that Alzheimer's suffers often confuse information in their heads, and not to take what Amy says seriously.
Bill needs to find out the truth. He goes through Amy's things and finds Ted's number and confronts him - it's true Laura is not his. Bill completely devastated and out of anger wants to tell Laura the truth.
Julia manages to calm him down and make him realise by doing that, he would have destroyed 50 years of happiness with the two woman he loves the most Bill agrees.
'Snakes and Property Ladders'

Jmmi is busy looking for the BMJ in Mac's and Greg's offices little does he know Elizabeth has been watching him and thinks he is a thief. He has been away on holiday and Elizabeth doesn't know him. Jimmi has been away to see his sister.
Tensions are still running high between George and Ronnie - George seems to be struggling with Bracken, she can't seem to settle her down.
Julia feels the staff at the Mill Health Centre are not being very supportive towards her needs, she is on a special diet because of her cholesterol level and snaps at Elizabeth, when she offers her a piece of cake.
Meanwhile, Sarah is fed up and very frustrated living with her parents. She desperately needs her own space and can't handily sharing their home with them anymore. Today is a particular bad day, she is telling Faith when a patient interrupts her.
Desmond Lawrenson is a property developer and has a offer of a life time - but she needs to be quick.
Barry is very persuasive and manages to get Sarah to have a look at the flat - she loves it but there's one catch she needs to come up with the deposit in cash ASAP.
She gets a bit suspicious and asks her dad Barry to come along. Barry Finch is a builder and has been in the trade for many years.
He makes a call to the estate agent that is representing the house - and discovers Desmond Lawrenson is a scam artist. Sarah tips the police off and manages to expose Des just as a potential buyer is about to hand over the cash.
'Family Ties'

Ronnie and George are surprised when Mac drops in to see them. He notices George is not interested in the baby and there is tension between her and Ronnie.
Mac suspects George may be suffering for post natal depression and and gets Faith to go round to give him a second opinion.
Faith is put into a difficult position when the boyfriend of a patient wants her to convince his girlfriend not to have surgery as a preventive measure against cancer.
Julian is still conscious of her low cholesterol diet but is making life hell for other members of staff during meal times.
Meanwhile, Ruth winters is in her mid forties and is dying from breast cancer. Stanley her devoted husband cares for her on a daily basis.
They have an only child sally who is engaged to Dean. Sally can't bear to see her mum suffer but there is nothing she can do - Sally is adamant cancer is not going to kill her - it runs in their family.
She tells her boyfriend she has had all of the necessary tests and if the results are positive she is going to have the surgery as a preventive measure - her breasts and ovaries will be removed.
Her boyfriend is completely against the idea and is too shallow to admit to her the real reason - he can't cope with the idea she will have no breasts or ovaries..
'Give A Dog'

Jason Mackie is 18 years old and has just been released from a young offenders institution. He robbed and beat up Albert Samson a 70 year old man.
Albert is really scared of Jason and starts to panic - he has developed breathing problems since seeing Jason in the neighbourhood.
David Mackie is Jason's alcoholic father who battered his wife so badly one day - she snapped and left.
David and Jason argue about money in the commotion Jason cuts himself on a knife on the sink. He goes to see Jimmi at the surgery. Jimmi already knows who he is.
Albert has told him everything about the attack and now fears Jason is back for revenge.
Jimmi manages to get Jason to open up. Jason wants to make a fresh start and move on but the people in his area will not give him a second chance.
Jimmi suggests he tries to make a fresh start outside the area possible with his mother.
Albert is making his way home when David spots him and threatens him - Jason sees this and tries to clam his father down.
Albert panics and drops his things and runs off home, he is very distressed and struggles to breathe.
Jimmi is at Albert's house when Jason comes over to apologise and returns Albert things.
He has made the decision to leave the area to make a new start with his mum.
'Mirror Mirror'

Sylvia Crawford is a very attractive woman in her Mid 50's she takes great pride in her appearance and often takes long to get ready to the annoyance of her husband.
John loves flirting with the ladies Sylvia was a high flying model when she was younger and likes to keep up with the current fashion and trends.
Her daughter Eve is the completle opposite - she couldn't be happier in a pair of boots and an overall- she works as a aid worker.
Sylvia has a follow up visit with Elizabeth after a breast cyst was found - Elizabeth is concerned Sylvia has been taking HRT for a while and advises her to change to an alternative - long term use of HRT can increase the risk of breast cancer.
Sylvia disagrees and refuses to stop taking it - she then makes a complaint to Julia about Elizabeth.
Eve discovers a note in her fathers shirt and suspects he is having an affair, apparently it's her mother Sylvia.
Sylvia believes taking HRT keeps her young at heart and delays the ageing process.
'Guilty Conscience'

Sarah has decided to change the layout of the surgery's reception making it clutter free - Mac is not impressed.
Faith confides in Mac, she suspects George may be bordering towards post natal depression.
Greg ties to help a reluctant but very sick man to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Matthew Harris is one of the regular drunkens, the Letherbridge police pick up and keep overnight - Greg is on duty and Matthew is having problems with his feet.
Greg examines him and becomes concerned over his breathing and bruises on his chest - Greg wants to do more tests but Matthew is not interested.
There is something about Matthew's symptoms Greg can't understand, while out with his colleagues he shares his concerns - Elizabeth is familiar with the symptoms and thinks it may be Beri Beri, this is a life threatening disease.
Greg can't wait a moment longer and rushes off to find Matthew.
Eventually he finds him in an old derelict house. This is Matthew's house his wife and daughter died in a fire some years ago and Matthew blames himself for it.
Greg tries to convince Matthew to go with him to the hospital but he won't listen - Mathew knows he is sick and believes it is his punishment for not being around when his family needed him the most - he was at work - he use to lecture in biology when the fire happened.
After losing his wife and daughter he couldn't see the reason for living - the bottle became his family.
'Forsaking All Others'

Greg tells Mac he is going to see George and the baby - Mac tells him to find out how George is feeling towards the baby without being too obvious, he doesn't want George getting suspicious that they are checking up on her.
Sarah has bought the baby a present and wants Greg to give it to her before Faith's Birthday Party.
She asks Greg to take it round - it’s a lovely pink baby grow. Ronnie catches George taking a tablet, it's for Post-Natal Depression.
Ronnie tries to reason with George only for her to lay into him - she blames him for everything not wanting a child, for her feeling unloved while she was pregnant - the birth going wrong and now, not being able to bond with the baby.
Sarah is collecting for Faith's birthday - she approaches Elizabeth who refuses to contribute.
She doesn't contribute towards collections regardless of the occasion.
Julia approaches Elizabeth about her lack of generosity towards Faith's present and tells her to get off her high horse and join in the fun.
