Elizabeth goes to St Phil’s to receive the abortion pill and bumps into Jimmi. She makes an excuse about visiting a patient and just about gets away without giving away anything.
There is a staff meeting after which Greg announces his engagement to Rico. Jimmi and Nick aren’t very clued-up about gay marriage. George wants a Rio Carnival theme but Greg thinks the women are all getting carried away.
Meanwhile, Jimmi is robbed by a young boy they become trapped in a lift together and Jimmi suffers from claustrophobia, but the boy is forced to seek his help when he finds his sister dangerously ill.

Elizabeth is at St. Phil’s for an induced miscarriage. This time she bumps into Nick and she says she had a meeting, after becoming irritated at his questioning. Greg and Rico ask George and Ronnie to be witnesses at their wedding.
Meanwhile, A daughter cannot accept that her father has invited her mother back into their life. She disappears again once it becomes apparent that her ex-husband is ill or at least it seems that way.

Greg's parents meet Rico for the first time. Nothing is actually voiced, but Greg's father is clearly homophobic and Rico wants to confront him about his feelings, but Greg insists he is happy pretending nothing is wrong he just wants his parents at his wedding, whether they silently approve or not. Rico tries to keep quiet, but alone with Victor, can't help trying to stand up for Greg, and ends up telling Victor not to come to the wedding. Greg is furious when Victor walks out, and it looks like the wedding might not happen when Greg storms out to look for his father. Greg confronts Victor who admits he is disgusted by his son's way of life. Greg realises Rico is right and that they can't keep pretending - he tells his father he is marrying Rico, and gets back to the venue in time. As Rico and Greg marry, Victor quietly sits at the back to watch.
Sarah has arranged a surprise for Greg and Rico - for Rico's sister Gabriela to fly from Brazil to be at the wedding. Impressed with Sarah's creative and organisational skills, she offers Sarah a job back in Brazil, but Sarah is more interested in Jimmi, who has realised he wants to spend his life with Sarah, and asked her out on a date. Sarah agrees, and romance is on the cards until Jimmi suddenly proposes at the wedding, terrified he will lose Sarah. In a tearful exchange, Sarah makes Jimmi realise he just wants someone to be dependent on, and turns down his proposal. She accepts the job in Brazil with Rico's sister, and decides to leave Letherbridge to make a new start.
Nick confronts Elizabeth about her mysterious illness, and Elizabeth admits she had an abortion. Nick storms out in shock and anger, but later tracks her down at the wedding, and tells her about his own past loss. Elizabeth insists she did the right thing, and Nick tells her some vicious home truths about her cold nature. Knowing Nick is right, Elizabeth tells Mac she no longer wants a partnership, and goes home to pack before leaving Letherbridge.
