Yeh, he was, well still is which is why i know as my godfather is a good friend of his. He plays Archie Shuttleworth the undertaker. Also Richard Briars is going to be in doctors - not too sure who he is, a comedian i think?

He was in The Good Life, Monarch of the Glen and some other shows

Richard Briers is an "old dependable" of British sitcoms, he's been going since the '60s. The only ones I can throw any light on are "The Good Life" ('70s), in which he and Felicity Kendal play a couple who go self-sufficient in a posh neighbourhood, to the horror of their snobbish next-door neighbours/best friends (Penelope Keith and Paul Eddington), and "Ever Decreasing Circles" ('80s) in which he plays a fussy and very particular self-appointed-grand-organiser-of-everything, with Penelope Wilton as his long-suffering (and miraculously sane) wife and Peter Egan as the next-door neighbour who's laid-back attitude frequently drives him potty. More recently he's dabbled in serious drama, such as the Kenneth Brannagh films. He normally plays fairly decent sorts but has been known to do nasty on occasion, as in "A Respectable Trade" ('90s drama about Bristol slave trade). Sorry if it's long-winded, just thought I'd quash the "comedian" theory.
