Pauline tells George she is very pleased with her daughter’s strong marriage, and then she leaves, much to Ronnie’s delight. Greg and Rico are discussing Nick’s hate mail. Rico says he intends to investigate Sadie, which is overheard by Michelle. Greg and Michelle are talking about the hate mail as they enter the Mill, ignoring the signals of Donna until they see Nick crouching under reception, listening to all they’ve just said. They make up something about an article of Rico’s which has nothing to do with Nick’s hate mail.
Rico tells Greg he cannot find anything about Sadie on his work computer and plans to trap Sadie at the dinner party tonight ,as he is very suspicious of her. At the dinner party, Rico asks Sadie what school she went to and what her parents did. She said her school has now been turned into a shopping mall and her father was a farmer and that her mother works in a shop. This comes as a surprise to Rico and Greg as she had earlier told them her parents were both dead. They have definitely cornered her now.
Meanwhile, Janie gets ready for school with a sore stomach and her father shouting down her neck. Her mobile phone bill has arrived, it is very high and so her phone is confiscated. Janie meets her boyfriend, Dan on her way to school. Dan is pushing her to have sex with him, but she tells him she’s not ready. Her stomach still hurts, so she skips school to go see Michelle. They talk about boys and Dan. Meanwhile Dan is waiting to see Janie in the school grounds. She isn’t there so he texts her, but Stewart has his daughters phone and is shocked at her received text.
Stewart arrives outside school and questions some schoolchildren. He then comes to Dan and Janie, Janie asks Dan to leave them. Stewart warns Janie, reminding her that her situation is different than most 16 year olds… Janie is upset with her father’s remarks and goes to see Michelle over lunch. She says that telling Dan about her illness is the scariest thing and she is afraid she can’t do it. Stewart arrives at the clinic, demanding to see whoever is in charge as he wishes to make a formal complaint about Michelle. Janie storms out and Stewart blames Michelle for encouraging her into believing she can have a normal life. Michelle argues back that she gave Janie confidential advice when she obviously couldn’t ask her father.
Dan escorts Janie to the clinic but is very confused. As they walk she tries to tell him about her illness but her stomach is so sore she falls in agony. She instructs Dan to call for an ambulance which he does. Dan also phones Michelle who promises to meet them at the hospital. At the hospital Janie reveals to Dan that she is HIV positive and asks him if he can keep it to himself, but he can’t deal with it and leaves. Michelle arrives and calms down a crying Janie. Stewart apologises to Janie, he just didn’t want her to grow up so quick and wants to protect her. Janie accepts his apology and encourages him to live his life and she is trying to live hers. We leave father and daughter reconciled.

Greg prescribes a cream for Val and advises Leanne to see her own doctor as it looks like Chelsea has also come into contact with the plant’s sap. Leanne is relieved that he doesn’t think she is hurting Chelsea, but accuses Derek of touching Chelsea; there is no hogweed in her garden, so how did Chelsea come into contact with it. Greg indicates Chelsea stroking a cat, whose fur is covered with the sap. The neighbours reconcile and play with Chelsea in the garden.
