Nick is at Ronnie’s house when Heather turns up. Ronnie tells her he will see her in his office. Nick realises that even though Ronnie has worked to get her released from prison, he still thinks she is guilty. Ronnie has been having conflicting feelings about Heather’s case. He tries to do his job, but can not help thinking she is guilty and lets that colour his actions in helping her. Nick and Ronnie talk about his attitude towards Heather and Nick tries to make him feel better but to no avail. Ronnie finally realises he was wrong about Heather and that she truly does care about Isabel. He is now feeling guilty about not believing Heather.
Julia arrives at the Centre in a grumpy mood and with a sore neck. Michelle tells Donna that a fling with Jimmi will probably loosen her up! She suspects Julia and Jimmi have feelings for each other. Jimmi and Julia both have a week holiday at the same time. Michelle and Donna jump to conclusions.
Jimmi and Julia are discussing their holidays and Jimmi’s going to his dad’s wedding. He notices her sore neck and rubs it for her. Witnessed by Michelle through the window!
Meanwhile, Heather comes to Joan’s house to try and see Isabel. Aitor does not let her in and begins packing. Heather tells Ronnie that she wants to have closer contact with Isabel. Ronnie seems reluctant to help her, but agrees. Heather realises that Aitor is planning on taking Isabel away. Heather and Aitor argue. Ronnie knows he is not doing his best to help Heather, but can not help his feelings.
Heather finds out Aitor has left with Isabel and tells Ronnie to take her to the airport. Ronnie says he will alert the authorities. Heather takes matters into her own hands and goes back to see Joan. She is threatening towards Joan and finds out that Isabel has been told that Heather is dead. She convinces Joan to tell her where Aitor has taken her. Arriving at the address in Coventry, Heather and Ronnie learn that Aitor has met someone else and now lives with her. Heather is visibly upset, and even more so when she sees Isabel calling Paula mummy. She leaves before Isabel can see her. She tells Ronnie that she does not want to disrupt the new life Aitor and Isabel have. Ronnie comforts her, realising that he was wrong.
'In The Driving Seat'

Michelle tells Donna she saw Jimmi massaging Julia’s shoulders. Michelle lets slip to Julia that she thinks she has a man. Julia is angry and denies it. Julia catches Michelle and Donna gossiping. They tell her of their suspicions about her and Jimmi. Julia has a go at Michelle and threatens her with a written warning. Michelle, scared for job, apologises.
Donna admits to Jimmi that Michelle thinks he and Julia are having an affair. Jimmi is angry and has a go at her.
Donna and Michelle are caught out by Jimmi while spying on him and Julia in the car park. They are finally convinced there is nothing between Jimmi and Julia.
Meanwhile, Leroy is angry at Jerome for not working enough. Has a go at him for being lazy and drinking too much. Jerome arrives at the Centre for his appointment with Jimmi. He is worried about is test results and how he can not work. Jimmi tells him not to drive and that he will contact the hospital. Leroy pressurises Jerome into driving again even though Jimmi told him not to. Leroy is more concerned with making his deliveries and scoffs at Jerome when he says he is not supposed to drive yet.
Jerome is looking very ill while making his deliveries. He struggles to stay conscious but crashes. In the hospital, Jimmi learns that Jerome was driving again. Jimmi has a go at Leroy for pushing Jerome into driving so soon. Jerome tells Jimmi he can’t leave his job because Leroy is his father and makes him make deliveries. Jimmi tells Jerome he may have to stop driving because he might have epilepsy. Encourages him to pursue his dream of being a football coach, but Jerome is worried about what Leroy will do. He finally confronts his dad and tells him he is leaving to go to sports college.
'Books and Covers'

After a friendly competition to see who could get through their morning patients the fastest, George wins the tasty chocolate prize. Nick talks to Greg about his conversation with Michael. Greg takes offence to Nick asking him for advice and leaves angrily. Greg talks to George but is still angry at Nick, thinking he is homophobic. George convinces Greg to talk to Nick.
Meanwhile, as Nick leaves for the night he finds Michael waiting for him. The boy has told his parents and it did not go well. Nick convinces Michael to come back to the surgery with him. Nick offers to talk to Michael’s parents.
Nick meets Greg and George at The Icon Bar and Greg and Nick make up.
Elsewhere, Michael confesses to Nick that he is gay, Nick is stunned, not what he was expecting form a patient! Nick is unable to give Michael the advice he wants, and Michael storms off angrily. He gets into a fight at school with another boy, over a girl. Back at the surgery Nick patches up his cuts and bruises from the fight. Michael tells him he was trying to prove himself as a man. Nick apologises for his reaction in the morning and Michael tells him he is going to tell his parents tonight. When Michael’s father arrives, it is clear for Nick to see that there is some tension in the family. Jenny especially does not get on well with Ian.
Nick’s talk with Jenny does not go well. She is angry at both him and Michael. While talking again to Michael, Nick learns that Ian is also gay. Probably the reason why his mother is so upset. Ian arrives and he and Jenny argue, she says Ian has made Michael gay, Michael is angry with them for not listening to him. They talk calmly, and Jenny accepts the situation.
'Dying Happy Part I'

Joe reaches out to Emily, they agree to have lunch. Joe is worrying over where to taker afterwards. Asks Michelle for ideas, she comes up with cinema, health club or shopping. Joe takes Emily to a posh restaurant. They seem to be getting on. After the restaurant they go shopping. Joe is miserably awkward while he waits for Emily to try on clothes. It is not going so well for Joe. His responses to Emily’s clothes are lacking. After numerous pairs of jeans, they leave the shop without buying anything. They argue going from Emily’s inability to pick one thing and stick with it to Joe’s failings as a parent. The outing was not the success Joe hoped for.
Meanwhile, When George visits Rose at home, it looks as if she has come to terms with her illness. She feels no resentment. George is pleased with the way she is progressing. Greg sees to Ange in the police station. She is in a cell and having trouble breathing. Once she has her inhaler she is fine. There were also E tablets and a morphine prescription in her bag. The morphine is for Rose, but what about the E’s?
Rose is in discomfort and a bad temper when Michelle arrives for their afternoon appointment. Michelle learns that Gary and Ange have not been giving Rose morphine but have Ange has found an alternative on the internet that keeps Rose relaxed and happy. George, Greg and Michelle suspect Ange has been giving Rose Ecstasy tablets to keep her relaxed and happy.
George goes out looking for Ange when she learns that she is out trying to locate more pills for Rose. She has gone toe pub that Ange was arrested at. The same one she went back to today. Ange confesses that she has been giving Rose ecstasy, but Gary and Rose do not know what she is taking. George talks Ange into not buying anymore tablets and they leave. But Ange returns when George drives off. An unmarked police car arrives outside the pub.

Greg, George and Michelle discuss the Connelly’s. They realise that if caught, Ange may face a custodial sentence. Returning from the Connelly house, George talks with Greg. She thinks it may have been netter to let her continue having the pills, but Greg disagrees. His argument convincing her.
Nick sympathises with Joe over his unsuccessful shopping trip with Emily. He come up with idea of taking her to an Art gallery. Joe picks her up from college. Emily is enjoying the visit, but Joe is once again bored. They seem to be on friendly terms again. Emily collects Joe from work to take him food shopping. He is scared after the fiasco yesterday but goes along. Emily is reaching out to him. Emily makes dinner for them, but the chilli is too hot. Joe carries on eating it though, and Emily is so happy she gives him a kiss
Meanwhile, Continuing from the previous episode, there are police officers watching Rose’s house. Rose is once again in her happy place thanks to the ecstasy tablets. The drug squad arrive at the house looking for Ange. George arrives and the police leave, not finding Ange. George helps Gary to realise what Ange has been doing. Ange returns to find Gary angry at her. He tells her to leave. They tell Rose, she is confused, torn between her children. After realising the full pain of her cancer Rose asks George to prescribe her MDMA, but there is no prescription version for ecstasy. Gary is dismayed and concerned to learn what his mum wants. Ange returns to the house and lets herself in to find Gary unconscious on the kitchen floor. George arrives and realises that Gary has OD-ed on heroin. Gary confesses that he went to get ecstasy pills for Rose and ended up buying himself some heroin too.
Ange confesses to not being in control al the time. Rose’s behaviour scared her, so she got her E’s to relax her. Rose wakes up to find Micelle with her. She tells her to get rid off the Ecstasy tablet Gary got for her and also the morphine George prescribed. Ange tells George she is scared to see her mum dying, she wants to put her in a hospice. George talks to her and convinces her not too. To show her mum that she is capable of looking after her. To prove she can do the things Rose thought she could when she under the influence of the pills.
