I stopped watching Doctors shortly after George and Ronnie left but recently I've started watching it again. I've been watching it for about three weeks and it took me quite a while to get into it again at first although I am getting into it more now. I agree that the storylines are definetly not as engaging as they used to be.

...... if Julia develops some sort of illness...... Well I was hoping that Julia would develop a taste for several glasses of wine each evening, that would turn into something she couldn't live without, or that her daughter Sam (the one we haven't seen for at least 5 years) would split up from her husband and return to live in Letherbridge with her two kids in tow. She'd be a constant drain on Julia emotionally and financially. Then just as Julia reaches the end of her tether, she meets a gorgeously handsome, widowed, mid 60 something man who is totally normal and has no baggage. He'd support her through it all, then marry her when she was ready. By then she'd be retiring anyway- so they'd live happily ever after. Either that- or she succumbs to Daniel's sleazy charm and has a passionate affair with him. She'd be so embarrassed and ashamed afterwards, that she'd leave Letherbridge forever. But I don't want her to leave..

It is unfortunate that most of the really engaging characters have left - George and Ronnie and Nick being the ones that come immediatley to mind. It's a shame that Lily left as her relationship with Heston was interesting. We'll have to see how the new Doctor does but I do have a problem with the actress playing her! Not an actress I particularly like! At this rate I'll stop watching as well and that comes from someone who's been there since the beginning. I'd still like to see more of the new people on the board posting though.

I've enjoyed the way they've introduced Elaine. It's nice to have someone who is normal, compassionate and ordinary instead of the egotistical characters like Daniel and Zara.

I have been on holday and before that had to keep going down 'home' as Dad was ill then died, so I have missed quite a few episodes, and I can't be bothered catching up on I player as the stories are so boring. Like you Pam I have been there from the begining and have disliked a lot of the storylines recently. I also have a problem with the actress playing Elaine, but it looks like the character may be just what is needed.(ordinary and normal!!) . I am not liking the stuff between Cherry and Jimmi, she is so artificial and silly, Jimmi deserves so much better. Please don't leave Pam!!!
