A compelling week-long story surrounding the kidnapping of a toddler and the repercussions it has is told on BBC One Daytime's award-winning drama, Doctors.
Carousel tells the story of how a last-minute pre-holiday shopping trip for Daniel and Zara turns into a nightmare when Daniel's two-year-old daughter, Izzie, goes missing.
Daniel meets Zara in town to pick up some items for their holiday. They are flying to St Lucia that evening, and he has Izzie with him. Zara remonstrates that Izzie will be bored, but Daniel insists she'll be fine. They treat her to ice cream and get her face painted before Daniel puts her on the carousel.
As she goes round and round, Zara leaves briefly to buy a gift from a jewellery shop, and Daniel takes a call from the hotel as he tries to organise a surprise for Zara. But when Daniel finishes his phone call he realises the carousel has stopped and Izzie has gone. Zara reappears and, worried, joins the search through the busy stalls, but Izzie is nowhere to be found.
Daniel is frantic when the police finally arrive, and as people crowd around he accuses Zara of not wanting Izzie with them in the first place, thinking her shopping far more important. Zara is upset but keeps her cool as Daniel shouts at members of the public.
Zara calls police officer Rob for help and also has to tell Izzie's mum, Lisa, who is distraught. The search is unsuccessful and as they get to the car Daniel breaks down; Zara holding him tight.
Zara takes Daniel back to her house to wait for news. As she looks at the jewellery she bought earlier, a small bracelet with "Isobel" inscribed on it, she tries to hold back tears. Downstairs Daniel is sobbing when DI Driver arrives ... but she has no news.
Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy, Christopher, walks home from school, passing his dad, Alec, who's on his way to the shops. Christopher arrives home and is shocked when Susan, his mother, introduces him to his new sister, Daisy. The little girl is Izzie.
Throughout the week's episodes, more is revealed about the kidnap and events surrounding the taking of Izzie, culminating in Friday's dramatic conclusion.
Carousel features guest stars Ben Edwards as Christopher Oakley, Tim Dantay as Alec Oakley and Matilda Ziegler as Susan Oakley. Dr Daniel Granger is played by Matthew Chambers, Dr Zara Carmichael by Elisabeth Dermot-Walsh, Lisa Torres by Michelle Lukes, Sgt Rob Hollins by Chris Walker and DI Driver by Elizabeth Rider.

..This storyline sounds very exciting & i can't wait to watch the weeks storyline unfold, i think that this might test Zara & Daniels relationship a little but by the end of the week i just hope things will turn out right for them.
