Thought this was a very well written episode. Topical storyline plus lots of promising elements for future episodes - new doctor, alcoholic friend of Julia's, Cairan etc.

yep it was nice to hear a mention of Ciaran and an appearence to look forward to, i just hope that the doctors peeps don't follow example of other soap and have Ciaran now a stroppy teen Not to sure about the new doctor, when i heard his 'i'll be a partner in no time' line, i was thinking what a big-headed git, but he may be ok. the alcoholic friend of Julia almost got me screaming at the tv because i was convinced (until she said her name, Marcia) that it was Kate and that she was going to ring Mac to take Ciaran because she'd been thrown out. Also nice to see Helen is almost back to normal, and Mac mentioned Jack (yay he's not been forgotten like some characters) the only downside for me was the lack of George and Ronnie (the only appearence was on the beginning credits ) i was very glad to see that Jimmi hadn't got on to the beginning credits before his first appearenece

good points.
but i don't know, somehow i didn't feel too happy to watch it, it's like i've been waiting so long for this, and even got the chance to watch it in real-time (i'm in ireland again-yoo-hoo) but my first impression of this epi was: "is that all?" i mean, same old story of a mother who doesn't notice the boy is sick and some wet looks from helen when a child is mentioned and mac and julia are heading a fight... it's like - hey! we've seen all this before. don't you think?
love xxx i

hm, but all tv shows repeat storylines time and time again, we should just be thankful that George and Ronnie aren't currently invovled in a who's the daddy storyline.
just asked my mum her comments on the ep - she said: remember me never to wear a top like that blond one (had to tell her, the character is called Sarah), wasn't that drunk woman drunk in corrie last night, where's the hippy dark haired one (i think she meant George), and shouldn't that new bloke be in a wheelchair.
