After this episode, Doctors goes on it's Christmas break

I thought seeing Daniel play with Joe again would be the highlight of the episode. Don't get me wrong it was super cute.

But then Howard started singing "It'll Be Lonely This Christmas"!
What a way to end Doctors this year!

Yes, Howard singing 'Lonely This Christmas' was one of the great 'Doctors' musical moments...up there with Jimmi singing 'Slow Boat to China' just before the Woodsons headed east, and Ruth singing 'Every Breath You Take' whilst staring at Michelle in a very creepy manner...

I thought that was a charming final episode: much more low-key than the past few years (when we've had Heston knocked unconscious, Simon taking an overdose, and Jimmi being kidnapped). But on this occasion we got a bunch of lonely men drinking real ale, while Emmma goes home to her husband....and looks lonelier than all of them put together. So we ended the year on a cul-de-sac rather than a cliffhanger, but we got a nice song so I'm not complaining.

My hopes for 'Doctors' 2013? I hope Jimmi finds some happiness - it's been a long time. I hope we discover a bit more of Mrs Tembe's origins - it would help her to seem a more rounded character. I'd love it if the Hollins kids could pay a flying visit to Letherbridge over the summer - just for a week or two. And - like most people I imagine - it would be awfully nice to see Zaniel back together.

As for Emma, she is a right one with her endless suggestive flirting and then she slaps Howard down after he declares his love for her.
