was working very hard on reading the sixth. it wasn't translated into hebrew yet and i couldn't wait. so the last week or so i wasn't sleeping much and i wasn't moving without the book and the dictionary....finished yesterday at 3:30 am and haven't stopped crying since. apparently, my english was good enough to realise this book is the darkest of this series and i personally wouldn't recommend it to teens, i still have nightmares from it. but maybe i'm just too sensitive. or maybe it's my life experience that causes me to identify so much with the characters (and no, this doesn't mean i'm a witch... ;D) but i was told that english youth are stronger than others and that what you have as children literature will not be accepted in the US for the same ages...
anyway, i still think it's a very good book. hard to digest maybe, but good and make you think a lot.
very upset i.

i'm not sure whether to get it, i've heard its sad and i will cry at relitvely anything (brit teens are hard? i'm the exception then).
hm why was the book dark? if it's darker than Checkmate i haven't got a hope of getting through it (Checkmate has a young girl who's like 7 at the beginning and 16 at the end being groomed to be a suicide bomber)
so glad to know your not a witch (although spells could be handy at times)

I have the latest HP to read...my daughter told me that it is slow to start but keep with it & it gets better...might start it tomorrow. took me a week but i'm sure you'll be faster not having to check every second word in the dictionary....it's true the begnning is slow, i even managed to leave the book and visit a friend while reading it, but it's only my friend's luck that i wasn't past the first third when we had to meet or i'd cancel....the last 4 days i read til 4 each night.

Actually started it last night when I left here...got the first 3 chapters out of the way which were a bit boring but made me laugh because I was thinking about our prime minister Tony Blair & what he would do if it hapened to him. Will carry on with it later today..just off shopping now..see you later.

a nice thought you had.... but i'm sure it could be much more hilarious if you'd imagine Margaret Thatcher on his seat... i'm quite sure she'd scare the minister for magic out of her office....don't you think?
