After all the intensity of the Jas stalker storyline, I thought this was 'Doctors' doing what it does best - telling a sweet little short story with a beginning, a middle and an end. It started off comic, with the battling mother and daughter storyline, the daughter forever worrying about her weight. And then it takes a mysterious turn when we learn the (supposedly virgin) daughter is suddenly pregnant. And then it ends up in very dark territory indeed when we find out how this happened.

But did I imagine it, or did the episode end with Howard taking out a police uniform, trying it on and winking at himself in the mirror? I'm writing this at the end of the week, having watched all the subsequent episodes, and there's been no other reference to it. Is Howard a criminal mastermind who cleverly masquerades as a cop? Does he have a secret double life as a strippogram? The nation must be told...
