Hi there,
I have watched the show since it started in 2000 and on and off ever since. I had found this board a while ago and then lost the link. I have just found it again since I joined a yahoo group.
I liked the characters of Mac, Helen, Jude, Mark, Ben etc... and although I thought they were really good characters - especially Mac - I don't feel that anyone on the show is irreplacable.
Personally, I prefer Michelle to Faith - although I was sorry when Faith went, and I think that Jimmy, Nick, Greg and George are as good, if not better, than the departed characters.
I actually prefer Donna to Sarah - who I found quite irritating at times! lol.
As for Mac, there was never really any media coverage of him leaving and when he did I was really shocked. I think with Joe they had to bring someone in who was older to broaden the age range out again. I think Joe is a great addition to the team, although he is a totally different character, temprement etc... to Mac.
What I have found that doesn't make sense with Doctors - and I may be wrong, never been good at Maths :-) is that with all the comings and goings over the years, there maybe less doctors in the surgery now than there were in previous years, which is a bit odd since The Mill is meant to be a super practice.
Has anyone ever noticed how whole episodes have been given over to Ronnie's legal issues and no medical matters at all?
Also, the episode when Greg and Ricco were helping that private detective the other week, it wasnt really medical - more detective show.
I think that is the good thing about Doctors; it can re-invent itself into different genres.
A couple of my friends do extra work on the show - about a year ago they were in the episode where Ricco and Greg got married and it was only shown about 4 months later. They have been there a couple of weeks ago and I think it is now already 2007 as far as Leatherbridge is concerned lol.
I wanted to ask the forum a question about Ricco? In an episode the other day, there was the odd word he said that didnt seem to have his accent. I know he has a foreign name in reality and is from foreign heritage but does anyone know if he is really english and has an english accent?
Also did anyone notice on the Martin Platt scenes, the cameramans fingers went in front of the lense?
I think the Sadie and Nick storyline is one of the best ever in the series - what does everyone else think?
