Wish mine was like hers ;-) Thanks 'vandoodle' for posting this :-) I talk Geordie too, very stong in pronunciation and i don't really like it, trying to loose it a little and start pronouncing words clearly!! However i would love an accent and to speak properly like Elisabeth Dermot Walsh, however Karen has a great accent too!!

My accent is pretty much the same as EDW's... not as fun as you may think, even in a private school I get teased about being a 'toff' (though am far from it, promise.) Anyway, there are a multitude of 'Black Country' accents, just like there are 'English' ones. I thought Jan's was to her credit actually, I live in the West Midlands and so from time to time I come across Brummies and the like. At least she's not gone overboard, some actors go way over the top attempting to be Brummie and it's awful. I do have to say that Charlie Clemmow's is brilliant though. In real life she talks like me - with an RP accent - and I was really surprised to find that out, she sounds like a natural!

That's really interesting, I didn't realise Charlie Clemmow's accent wasn't her own. I had always just assumed that she just exaggerated the 'brummie' a bit. I would love to have an RP accent like EDW and yourself! Mine is a terribly Edinburgh accent, as close as Scotland gets to RP probably!
